Im Sol’s past has done many things that have caused Sun Jae, to keep his distance from her. In the latest episode of ‘Lovely Runner’, once again Im Sol jumps back to 2023, where Sun Jae(K-pop sensation) is dead. She wakes up in the same hospital where Sun Jae is admitted. She sees Baek In Hyuk outside weeping. What next takes place, makes fans more curious as to now Sol must once again alter the past.
Sun Jae parts his ways with Im Sol; but could part his feelings: Lovely Runner Epi 4 Synopsis and Review
Previously in episode 3, we saw Im Sol say yes to Kim Tae Sung as he proposes to her, leaving Jae heartbroken. She jumps back into the present, resenting her decision. In the flashback, we are taken to the bridge where Sun Jae once again sees Im Sol. She sees him out of utter amazement but doesn’t know who he is.
With an urge to confess to Sol how he feels, he keeps seeing her from afar, just standing there and longing for his true love. Later, Jae’s friend and band member In Hyuk calls Sol telling her that Sun Jae is missing something that has to do something with her; even the police question her to find her picture in Jae’s wallet.
She reaches under the same bridge trying to travel back in the future but can’t. Reaching home, the clock strikes 12; a bright light flashes in her watch and she travels back in 2008. When she wakes up she sees that some kind of exorcism is happening to her. She remembers that she called the priestess to perform a ritual on her.
Running away from her freak show, she sees Sun Jae and tries to talk to him. Remembering, she humiliates him she tries to reason with him but Sun Jae passes her without a word. The next day, again Sol tries to talk to him and convince him why she has been acting like a freak. Sun Jae ignores her and tells her that she must not see him now that she is with Tae Sung.
Tae Sung sees Sol and takes her way. He knows that Im Sol is not the same teenager who is crazy about him. She asks him to stay away from the 19-year-old Im Sol. In the later part of the episode, Sun Jae picks up a fight with his classmate but Sol knocks him out. She even picks a fight with Tae Sung’s ex but encounters Sun Jae’s manager( from the future). She sees him giving out his visiting card to him and Baek.
The scene then shifts to Sun Jae’s house, where somehow, Im Sol enters and gives him books and some cool stuff to live off his mind from his swimming career. She becomes unconscious when books fall on her. Sun Jae is given his trophy and certificate when she finds Sol lying in his room. She wakes up and again tries to reason him but all in vain. She confesses that she doesn’t remember what happened at the pool.
Sun Jae gives her an ultimatum that she must leave him alone. She is saddened and leaves. The next day Sol hears that Baek and Jae went for an audition but Sun Jae backed out due to his father’s busy restaurant day. Hyuk calls Sun Jae telling him about Sol.
Towards the end of episode 4, Sun Jae follows Sol when she misses her stop. She reaches some isolated place away from her neighborhood when a man drunk tries to talk to her. She tries to run away from him and threatens to call the cops when Sun Jae reaches. She slips off the bridge remembering that Sun Jae saved her when she met with an accident.
She remembers that she cussed him for saving her when she wished to die rather than live a crippled life. The moments from the past and the present reflect Sol when she realizes, all she did to him, was rude. Sun Jae has been patiently waiting and loving Sol, longing for her, in return. The episode ends on the scene from episode 1 when Sun Jae called her in the hospital and she acted like an ass. She doesn’t remember him, making him feel even more heartbroken.
Episode 5 Preview
The next episode will mark another exciting thrill for fans. This is the second last or probably the last chance for Im Sol to save Sun Jae’s life. Will she be able to make another fate change to save him from slipping into depression? Fans, keep calm for the next chapter of ‘Lovely Runner’ coming out on Monday and Tuesday on TVN.
